Wind energy imports

The Port of Vancouver USA is the US West Coast port of entry for Vestas Wind Energy. The port handled more than 300 complete wind turbines (a complete turbine consists of the tower, nacelle (generating unit), hub and three blades) in 2007, creating 72,000 work hours for Longshore workers in Local 4.

Wind energy is expected to be a consistent area of growth for the port in future years, which is part of the reason the port recently purchased a second mobile harbor crane, which will arrive in the first quarter of 2009.
