VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, July 13, at 9:30 a.m. to attend to two action items.

Commissioners Jerry Oliver, Brian Wolfe, and Nancy Baker will meet Tuesday with open session beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the Commission Room at the port's administrative building, 3103 NW Lower River Road.

Port completes key segment of West Vancouver Freight Access project

 VANCOUVER, Wash. – Today the Port of Vancouver USA announced completion of the Terminal 5 Unit Train Improvement project.  The project, part of the larger West Vancouver Freight Access (WVFA) project, adds 35,000 feet of new rail capacity to the port’s internal system.  The new track, constructed in a loop with associated yard tracks, is located at the port’s recently developed Terminal 5 (T-5) and will provide rail service for a variety of cargoes, including wind energy components.  Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) began using the new loop track at the end of June.

Port of Vancouver USA to potentially sell land to Farwest Steel

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA today announced plans to consider the surplus of up to 22 acres of industrial property in preparation for a potential sale to Farwest Steel Corporation, one of the leading distributors, processers and fabricators of specialty steel products in the Northwest. The potential $5,082,500 sale could bring 225 industrial jobs to Clark County.

Keyera Energy becomes first industrial tenant at Terminal 5

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Port of Vancouver commissioners today unanimously authorized a ground lease with Keyera Energy, allowing the company to relocate its Vancouver Terminal to the port’s new Terminal 5.

The agreement makes Keyera the first industrial tenant at the port’s new Terminal 5 – formerly the site of Alcoa and Evergreen Aluminum. Keyera receives and distributes propane in the Vancouver area.

Ports support governors’ plans to advance bridge project

The Ports of Vancouver and Portland today announced their support of the Washington and Oregon governors’ letter stating the Columbia River Crossing Project move forward without delay.  The letter is in response to requests for further review of the project from City of Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt, Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart, City of Portland Mayor Sam Adams and Metro Council President, David Bragdon.

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Economic development is happening, on the ground now at the Port of Vancouver USA, which was the big news at Thursday’s Port Re:Port, the annual State of the Port Address at the Red Lion Hotel Vancouver at the Quay.

In his State of the Port Address, Executive Director Larry Paulson said there is evidence of the types of economic development and jobs currently happening at the port – which calls itself the “Port of Possibility” – happening all over the port, even as he addressed a sold-out audience.
