The
Port of Vancouver, USA, is a regional logistics load center for
the transportation network of the Pacific Northwest. Situated at
the terminus of the Columbia River's deep draft channel, the Port
forms a natural gateway to the river-barge ports of Eastern Oregon
/ Washington and Northern Idaho. It is the transfer and switching
center for four major railroad lines serving North America: Burlington
Northern Santa Fe, Union Pacific, Canadian National and Canadian
Pacific Railroads. The Port is at the interchange for all points
north, east and south on the U.S. Interstate Highway system, and
our location is just minutes away from a major international airport.
Transportation
Water The Port of Vancouver,
USA, currently offers 13 deep draft vessel berths. The Port is served
by numerous river and ocean-going barge lines.
Highway The Port is located
within two miles of Interstate 5, the major north-south interstate
freeway on the West coast, and within ten miles of Interstate 84,
the interstate heading east. Many local and interstate trucking
lines regularly serve the Port.
Rail The Port is served by
Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific Railroad, Canadian
National and Canadian Pacific Railroads.
Air Portland International
Airport is located within 15 minutes of the Port of Vancouver, USA,
providing passenger and commercial freight services around the world.

Security
Port of Vancouver's terminal facilities are
fully enclosed and secured round the clock by port-employed security
workforce. Camera and video surveillance adds to the heightened
level of security at Port facilities.

Support Services
Agents, linesmen, tugboat services, bunkering services and ship
stores are available locally. There is an I.L.W.U. Local in Vancouver.
The area's major stevedoring companies operate at the Port.

Cargoes
The Port handles a broad range of cargoes, including general, breakbulk,
project and direct transfer cargoes, containers, automobiles, forest
products, steel and aluminum products, liquid bulks, and a number
of dry bulk commodities such as bauxite, mineral ores, concentrates,
fertilizers, sands, clays, grains and other bulk agricultural commodities.

Land
The Port has 600 acres (242.8 hectares) of developed industrial
and marine property, another 1,080 acres (437 hectares) of land,
including an additional 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of waterfront access,
available for future marine and industrial development.

Services
The Port offers a range of services that enable us to accommodate
unique cargoes, specialized handling processes, or the specific
requirements of an industrial client, from permitting to siting;
the Port is always updating and refining these services to anticipate
the special needs of all our customers. In addition, other available
services include water, lights, taxi, telephone, electricity and
emergency response services.

Storage
The Port has 1,034,610 square feet (96,115 square meters) of dockside
warehousing for general cargo and 160,000 square feet (14,864 square
meters) of bulk storage warehouses. In addition, the Port maintains
250 acres (101.2 hectares) of open storage and marshalling yards
adjacent to the docks.
