The
Port of Vancouver, USA, provides significant economic benefits to
the community through shipping operations and industrial development.
The port brings an overall $1.6 billion in regional economic benefits
each year. Over 15,500 workers are employed by more than 50 companies
located on port property. These jobs produce nearly $940 million
in annual personal income. Port related activities also provide
nearly $82 million in state and local taxes for public services,
each year.
The port works closely with local government, civic groups and
business associations to promote business, industrial development,
and environmental stewardship in our community. In partnership,
we are working toward a common goal of making Vancouver, Washington,
USA a great place to work, live, and raise families.
Congestion, fuel costs and workforce accessibility are influencing business productivity and jobs generation. “Economy in Motion” brought together national experts and local business leaders to Vancouver to share their perspectives on how our region’s transportation system affects the bottom line and determines where and how businesses locate and thrive.
Thanks to our sponsors, the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, the Port of Vancouver USA, the Port of Portland, Identity Clark County, Greenlight Greater Portland, Portland Business Alliance, CREDC and Washington State Department of Transportation.
