What is TWIC?:
Effective April 2009, all personnel who perform work (including contractors and consultants) within our maritime facility will be required to have a Transportation Worker Identification
Credential (TWIC) in order to perform their duties unescorted. This program was established by Congress and is administered by the Transportation Security Agency and the United States Coast Guard. In order to enroll for a TWIC logon to www.tsa.gov/twic for information and guidance.
Procurement Categories:
Architectural, Engineering, and Surveying Services
The port maintains an active A/E On-Call Roster open throughout the year for consultants to participate in the selection process for upcoming projects. For more information please click here.
Public Works and Small Works Construction:
The Port of Vancouver maintains a Small Works Roster (SWR) for public works projects less than $200,000. Registered contractors will be notified of business opportunities in their type of work and will be able to download solicitation documents and plans when available. All projects exceeding $200,000 utilize formal invitation for bid procedures which include advertising.
Personal Services Consulting
Personal services consulting (non-architecture/engineering), exceeding $5000 are procured through the use of various competitive procurement methods and procedures determined by value, scope and specialization of the skills required for the project.
Materials, Supplies, and Equipment
Procurements exceeding $3000 are competitively acquired by the port. The Vendor Roster is used to register materials supplies and equipment vendors as well as to register those firms or individuals that provide routine or purchased services to the port. To be included on this list please complete your registration on the port eBid system.
Exceptions to the methods of procurement referenced above may exist in the case of an emergency or the need to procure a sole source item.
